Owned by Lori and Gene Jenkins, Wyatt’s Bed & Biscuit is much more than just a business.

A lifelong animal lover with a strong penchant for dogs in particular, Lori has dreamed of owning and operating a kennel in Aiken since relocating to the area 5 years ago.

Lori, a professional pet stylist who trained at the Southern Institute of Pet Grooming, has extensive experience working with a wide variety of animals. A professional breeder of Boston Terriers for over 17 years, Lori has worked with both Thoroughbred and Standardbred horses in every capacity, for some of this country's top trainers.

Having previously owned and then sold a similar but smaller kennel in Greenwood, SC, Lori knew exactly what it would take to make her dream come true.

After purchasing her property a few years ago and learning that it was zoned for rural development, Lori mentioned the idea of building a kennel on their property to her husband Gene, a Wackenhut Services employee at SRS. Knowing how committed his wife was to animals, Gene thought it was a great idea and immediately began to sketch the basic layout. And now, less than a year later, both the dream and the sketch have turned into a reality!
